I always forget to take pictures before I eat, but here are two yummy desserts I had recently!
Yummy chocolate overkill dessert for our anniversary dinner. It was basically a giant ferrero rocher, except the inside was icecream. It came all round with a side of hot chocolate to pour on top! It was delish!
Afternoon tea with a friend at a Japanese bakery. Japanese strawberry cake and matcha tiramisu. It was surprising good!

It's all about the eating....
Ah Miami....after three weeks and several pounds gained, I am back in Cannes and preparing for work...
but what did I do in Miami you ask?? Well....it seems like all I did was eat! Although at times I would eat before remembering to take a picture, but here is a brief rundown of my vacation:
First the eat-outs:
Shake Shack:
The Shack Stake: The first two bites were absolutely amazing but after that it got super heavy. The fries were really good though.
The Pit BBQ:
We've passed by this place several times last time we were in Miami and have been curious about it every since. It's an outdoor wooden bbq place that seemed like it would sPit (haha, get it?? =P) out some pretty awesome bbq. Alas, it was not bad, but we left a bit disappointed.
Houstons:
After all that heavy food, I felt like a salad once in a while...so as my husband ate more ribs (this time his prefered ribs) I had a yummy salad.
Seasons 52:
And of course, for mom and dad's anniversary, we went out to celebrate and eat yummy food.
Aside from eating out, we did most of our eating eating-in. The chef and his tools?
Voila:
So as I said before, I would forget a lot of the pictures, but here are some
And then finally, who can forget the "love" soups from Mom ^_^

A long awaited update!
So I have definitely ignored this blog for two months now....oops, sorry. But a lot has happened since then!
School has ended and I am vigorously working on my planning for next year (as you can tell by my break here =P ) but I've definitely taken some breaks here and there....
Here's a recap (in pictures) of the last two months!
First off, before school ended, I went on a field trip with my kindergardeners to the zoo. It was nice, but it was definitely nothing compared to the Miami zoo =P
We took a mini trip to New York. It was mainly composed of food and shopping =P
And of course, we visited the 911 memorial site and the Freedom Tower.
And lastly, the street we stayed on and Central Park
Germain and I also passed 1,000 days since we got married!
And we took a mini mini quiet getaway about an hour from Cannes...It was on a golf course so it was quite peaceful. Something Germain needed after all the long exams.
Then last weekend one of our friends came in town for a visit. He has never gone to Monaco, so we took a day trip.
Next stop...Miami!

Spring Break 2014
Vacation... Ah...nice to have some relaxation time.
So for this vacation, we didn't plan a big trip, instead, I rested at home and figured out some lesson plans. But of course, we took some time to go out, whether it was to eat or to explore.
First, I've been craving Chinese food, so we went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant to eat our fill. It was a little expensive and the options were not plentiful, but the food was fresh and the environment was very calm and relaxing.
Also during my week of vacation, we took a visit to....i guess you can say it's a nature store. It sells predominately flowers and plants, but they also have some animals. We bought two plants for our balcony which are said to help keep away mosquitos.
I also had a little more time to make food! Of course, I forgot to take pictures of some of them (too hungry!) But here was dessert one night!
Apple Turnovers. Since I used store-bought puff pastry, I didn't have too many options on how to fold over the dough, so I tried two different options. What do you think?
And then there was our long walk. We drove about twenty minutes inland from Cannes. From there, we arrived in a cute little village where we started our hike up the mountain. Our destination were the remains of an old defense fort.....However, it was a bit disappointing. There wasn't much to see. Luckily, the hike up the mountain was pretty.
So....that was vacation.....still not ready to go back on Monday =P But the year's almost over!

Osaka
Last stop in Japan was to Osaka to see gaje in her new city!
Osaka is a city known it's unique foods and eateries. Unfortunately, time did not allow us to eat everything =( There are too few hours in a day and our stomachs are just too small. But, we did what we could. If we were not eating, or exploring the many little streets, we were shopping in Osaka. I mean, it was our last day in Japan...why not finish using all our yens?
And of course, our last meal in Japan....for this trip at least! Thanks to gaje, for both finding this place and for treating us, we were able to eat a delicious and very exclusive type of beef. Fancyyy! What seems to be a tiny hole in the wall, we struggled to even find the door to the restaurant. Randomly, a wooden door slides open and closes again without an invitation to enter so that the hostess could find our reservation.
Once we were in, we were seated in a tiny booth which had a sliding bamboo curtain to provide privacy. The rest of the meal was absolutely delish! You can read more about what we ate and each cut of beef on Always Hungry's blog. So just as a teaser:
And that's our trip in Japan! It was a wonderful experience and definitely a place we'd like to visit again....there is just so much more to see (and eat!)!
Until next time Japan, you will stay as a unforgettable memory. =)
