Strasbourg
For Friday and Saturdays, Germain and I took a mini trip over to Strasbourg to visit the Christmas Market. The Strasbourg Christmas market is well known and is often regarded as the captital of Christmas. Walking into the old town of Strasbourg, you definitely feel that it's a little more like Christmas. Decorations flooded the streets, from the top of the roofs to the insides of every tiny boutique. The air smelled like a mixture of hot wine and roasted chestnuts. Wooden stalls filled with trinkets occupied the side streets.
And at night, Christmas lights lite up the streets.
The architecture in Strasbourg is very unique as well. The houses have very steep roofs that allow the snow to fall and the wooden frame is often visible. The houses are usually painted different colors as well.
The Cathedral of Strasbourg is also very well known.
For dinner, we ate at a restaurant recommended by one of Germain's classmates who is from the area. It serves very typical cuisine from the city. However, it was not our favorite. Very fatty and heavy. Oh well, it was worth the try.
On Saturday, the town was extremely crowded. Since we were able to visit most of the things we wanted to on Friday, we took advantage of being so close to the border and went into Germany by bus! There wasn't a whole lot to see right across the border, but we can say that we've been to Germany now! ^_^

Look what I found!!
Lycheeeee!!
Unfortunately, they are not amazing tasting. They're good, but a little sour and the seed is quite big.....and pretty expensive. Well....this will have to do for me for now!

Last minute activities
Before leaving New York, I had a couple of errands to run.
On our way, I was able to take a glance at the Barclays Center during sunlight. It's a pretty interesting building with many curves and turns.
Also before I left, we took some time to put some character into Jon's room....
Well....as I depart, I leave my name stamped on the front door.
Until next time!

Last Day in NY
.....for this trip at least.
We didn't have too much planned that did not revolve around food. So we just decided to walk around Union square for a little bit before grabbing dinner.
There was a farmers' market as well as a Holiday market going on, so we strolled around, looked at the different stalls, and of course......ate.
After walking around the farmers' market, my sister and I killed some time by painting out nails in Sephora and walking around a department store.
For dinner, we ate at a very American Italian restaurant. Their entire menu consist of big and hardy portions of pizzas, pastas, salads and more. For the three of us, we ordered an appetizer, a pizza, a salad and a dessert. I am sooooo full.
Not to mention.....their breads are quite tasty. We even got some to take home!
Tomorrow, back to France!
However, if you want to read more about our adventures this week. Be sure to check out my sister's post by clicking HERE and Jon's post by clicking HERE. (one of these post should be read and taken lightly....you decide which one)

Always food
During my trip in New York, many of our plans revolve around food. No surprise, huh?
However, last night, we went to my first NBA live game. The Brooklyn Nets (formerly known as the New Jersey Nets) played against the Cleveland Cavaliers and won! I haven't been in a stadium in years and forgot the feeling of bring in such a huge place. Look how tiny those people are!
Today, we headed out to Flushing.......for food.
A new shopping center opened since the last time I came to New York. It is pretty convienent because after eating downstairs in the all Asian food court, we headed straight upstairs to do some grocery shopping!
After walking around for a while, we decided that we needed a break. We headed to the old shopping center of Flushing (luckily it was still up) and ordered my ever dear Paobiiing!
And although we were quite full, we could not resist a yummy $1 peking duck wrap before leaving Flushing.
I'm going to need to diet when I get home!

Quantity and not Quality
For my trip to New York, I had several food requests.
I guess because I do not get my proper share of Asian food in Paris, I often have cravings for Asian food. And ever since I was little, rice crepes have always been one of my favorite Chinese foods. They are especially good when they're cheap!
So today, we went into the city and into Chinatown in search for cheap, but yummy street food! And yes.....we finished everything.
Afterwards, we made our way over to Bryant Park. During the winter, many cities will have holiday markets with stalls and stalls full of trinkets, stocking stuffers, and our personal favorite.....food. Our mission: Kettle corn!
I'm not going to be hungry for three days!....but we all know that's a lie =P
